April 30th Declared “ Dirty Dogs Day” in San Diego County

Dirty Dogs Day Announced in San Diego County

Local dog wash, Dirty Dogs will not soon forget the date of their recent Bark After Dark fundraiser. On Wednesday night, the family-owned business received the County’s Live Well San Diego award in front of their two- and four-legged guests. As part of the ceremony, Supervisor Dave Roberts and his staff declared April 30th as “Dirty Dogs Day” in San Diego County.

Dirty Dogs is a family owned business that first opened its doors in 2008 and has grown to three locations in North County with two more on the way. The business was recognized by Live Well San Diego for their contributions to animal wellness in North County and their dedicated efforts to giveback to local communities and animal rescue organizations.

In 2013 Dirty Dogs raised 3,500 pounds of pet food for the Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. Dirty Dogs has also embarked on a series of events called Bark After Dark which entail hosting dog-friendly activities at North County hot spots while raising money for pet-focused organizations.

Wednesday’s event at Carruth Cellars drew more than 150 people and their furry family members while raising $680 for Shelter to Soldier, an organization that rescues and trains shelter dogs to serve veterans suffering with posttraumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury.

Dirty Dogs will be hosting the next Bark After Dark at Hotel Indigo in Del Mar on Wednesday June 25th.
