AT&T Congratulates San Diego Winner of First-Ever Student Film Competition on Cyberbullying

Canyon Crest Academy Presented with Second Runner-Up Award and Cash Prize at Teen Indie Awards

AT&T congratulates the student filmmakers of Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, who received the Second Runner-Up award and a $2,500 cash prize at this year’s first-ever Cyberbullying Film Invitational, held during the All American High School Film Festival in New York. The school was honored for its 6-minute film addressing cyberbullying and the impact it has had on their lives, titled, “Incognito.”

The Cyberbullying Film Invitational is a part of AT&T’s new national effort in partnership with Fullscreen, a global network of content creators and brands, to raise awareness for the issue of cyberbullying. The organizations will release a free film on cyberbullying in February 2017 featuring the talent of more than 250 high school filmmakers from nearly 30 schools and student organizations from across the country who participated in the Cyberbullying Film Invitational. Canyon Crest Academy’s film will be one of the short films that will appear in AT&T’s film on cyberbullying for high schools starting in February 2017.

“AT&T congratulates Canyon Crest Academy and the school’s student filmmakers for their winning film at the Cyberbullying Film Invitational,” Ken McNeely, president of AT&T California. “We know cyberbullying is a real issue for students, schools and families, and we’re proud to be a part of this concentrated effort to spread awareness about it and address it head on. We look forward to seeing Canyon Crest’s powerful short film featured as part of AT&T’s upcoming film on cyberbullying.”
