Revolutionizing Peak Performance Through Education

A Revolutionary Approach to Achieving Peak Performance Through Education

“When I was a high school teacher in special education and I saw students that I had taught in elementary school and middle school and they came through the high school, and they were still in special education. And they weren’t reading any better. They weren’t thinking any better. They weren’t writing any better than when I had seen them. They were angry and they were making really unhealthy decisions. And these were great kids. They were smart kids. And I knew then that I had to step outside of the traditional box. And that’s when I realized learning is a skill. It’s not something that’s innately in somebody’s brain. It can be taught.

“I’ve been with Falcone Institute for 14 years now, a little over 14 years. I think the kids that come through these doors, what hurts the most is being misunderstood. And it’s not that the parents or the educational system hasn’t tried to figure out how to help these kids. I think that just no one has really understood them and figured out the codes or the solution. And everything that helps, I think underlies everything we do here is a heart to heart connection that we try to make with every individual that comes in here.

And it starts just with the ambiance of the office when they all enter through those doors. Most people just feel that there’s a sense of peace or that this is a safe place. What I’ve noticed when the artwork was first placed in the office is that it brought everything together. It really brought a sense of unity among the pieces in the office, which I think has brought the staff even closer together. And really kind of connected us to the work that we do.”

“The art facilitated the energetic flow throughout the whole office. So rather than parts of the office being compartmentalized, there all of a sudden is a connection. The connection just isn’t through the color, or the picture on the pallet. The connection becomes living. It becomes an energetic asset so that people that came in, and saw the art knew that, oh my gosh, it belongs here. And it flows.”
