It’s no secret that the schools in Carmel Valley San Diego are among the best that San Diego has to offer and at all grade levels they continue to act like a powerful magnet drawing in families from across the country. From Carmel Valley’s inception, the excellent schools and the thriving local business environment have created a community unlike any other in San Diego. From biotech to high tech, from medical practices to international law firms, there has been a steady influx of the best and brightest minds into Carmel Valley over the years, so it makes sense that our schools reflect a focus on top notch education.
Out of the 400+ public elementary schools in San Diego County, all of the Carmel Valley elementary schools score near the top of the state’s Academic Performance Index. The API is a numeric index ranging from 200 to a high of 1000 that reflects a school’s performance level based on results of statewide testing. Carmel Valley Middle School stands out as the #1 ranked middle school in all San Diego County and #5 in the state, and this is really a testament to the excellent foundation that Carmel Valley’s elementary schools lay. Located in the heart of our community, Carmel Valley Middle School offers outstanding academic and athletic programs, highlighted by an incredible Performance Arts Center and the San Dieguito Boys and Girls Club, both located on campus. This kind of exposure to the arts, languages and both competitive and recreational athletic leagues, allows Carmel Valley kids to get a balanced and well-rounded education.
The school also thrives with a vibrant parent and volunteer network that allows kids to receive the attention and instruction they need to excel at the next level of their education. Parents through the Bobcat Connection are encouraged to work together with the faculty, including events like the monthly “Coffee with the Principal” where ideas and strategies are put forward to enhance the Carmel Valley Middle School experience.
