Creating a Crown or Bridge that is a Perfect Fit!

It’s not entirely uncommon to need a crown or bridge sometime during your lifetime.  At Torrey Hills Dental, we have advanced technology that makes getting a crown a whole lot easier.  Using a CEREC machine, we can produce a crown the same day, without having to take any impressions.  As a result, no temporary crown is put on, and you don’t have to worry about it falling off over the two week period it takes to get your crown back from the lab.  At Torrey Hills Dental, we simply enter our patient’s data into a computer, which will analyze it and produce a porcelain crown within minutes.  Not only do you save time by walking out the same day with a crown, but you are guaranteed a crown that will fit your tooth perfectly!

While a crown is simply a SINGLE tooth restoration, a bridge is a little more complex and requires actually bridging the gap created by a missing tooth.  A bridge will be made up of two crown on either side of the gap, creating an anchor for a dental implant.  This has to be done with a lab because we like to use metal underneath it for support to ensure the bridge will not break.  As a result, the patient will go home with a temporary crown and return in two weeks to complete the procedure.

Regardless of whether or not you need a bridge or a crown, you can feel at ease when coming to Torrey Hills Dental, as we are highly trained and work with top of the line technology.  Your smile will never look better!
