“Dog Breed Appreciation Day” Kicked-Off with a Bark!

The first-ever Dog Breed Appreciation Day at Dirty Dogs kicked-off with a “bark” last Wednesday, December 4th.  The breed to appreciate was golden retrievers who received free self-serve washes at the local dog wash.  The event attracted goldens from all over San Diego with dogs and owners attending from North Park, Coronado, Carlsbad, Oceanside as well as Dirty Dogs regulars.

“We’ve always appreciated all the wonderful dogs who walk through our doors but we wanted to do something that helps us demonstrate our appreciation,” said Riley Bandy, manager at Dirty Dogs.  “We also found that it was an excellent socializing opportunity for owners of golden retrievers as they got to meet each other while washing their dogs.”

Many of the owners were first-time visitors to local dog wash, Dirty Dogs and they were excited to discover many of the healthy and natural pet products carried there.  “Golden retrievers have a tendency toward food allergies and skin and coat issues,” says Riley, “Dirty Dogs offers an assortment of hypo-allergenic foods and skin & coat supplements that can help these dogs stay healthy and active.”

Dirty Dogs will be continuing with breed appreciation days at their two full-service stores in North County.  San Diego Dog owners should check the Dirty Dogs website for updates or sign up for the Dirty Dogs email newsletter for upcoming events.
