Hot off the press, its Awards season for me! Having recently worked The Grammys and now preparing for the Academy Awards, this is an exciting time to show the Carmel Valley San Diego community the new trends in what’s happening in Hollywood. With high school formal dances, weddings and so many other celebrations to attend, choosing a hairstyle can feel overwhelming. Here are a few trends with tips to show you how to recreate that celebrity style while looking natural and feeling fierce doing so!
Trend #1– the waterfall braid. This can be worn by all ages, length of hair permitting. It’s soft, detailed, romantic and can be as casual or dressed up as you determine. Bring different pictures to your stylist to show your taste, and she will interpret your best look to go with the dress you are wearing.
Trend #2-Grace Kelly inspired retro up dos. The key to a “finger wave” up style is to keep it modern. “Inspired” is the word to focus on. Zac Posen nailed this look at New York Fashion Week. It’s definitely a look for the confident and can be very youthful and head turning if done well.
Trend #3-a texturizing chignon. Think classic bun with a current twist. This is bridal meets runway. A very interesting way to wear a classic look, and the options for personalizing are endless! A side or middle part can be worn, curls within the chignon may be added as well as a peek a boo braid. A woman in her 40’s can wear this as beautifully as her daughter. It’s all about the attitude!(And red lips)
I love this time of year, when spring is around the corner and colors become brighter! Our moods are lifted and the events seem never ending! Remember, bringing your favorite pictures to your stylist, as well as a snap shot of your outfit, is imperative. However, the most important thing of course is to have fun, live your best life and let your inner beauty be the main attraction!
