Invisalign – Not Just for a Pretty Smile Anymore!

Invisalign is a virtually invisible solution, so you can smile confidently both during and after treatment.  By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign gradually moves your teeth toward the smile you’ve always wanted.  And, almost no one will know you’re wearing them unless you tell them.

Many people believe that Invisalign is only effective at treating minor orthodontic issues.  But the fact is that our 96% satisfaction rate is a result of successfully treating a broad range of cases, from overly crowded teeth and under bites to jaw problems and tooth misalignment.

1. Healthier Gums: Properly positioned teeth are easier to brush and floss than teeth that are crowded, crooked, or spaced too far apart.  Properly aligned teeth can help gum fit more tightly around them, which may lead to better periodontal health.  Plaque hides around the necks of the teeth and crowded teeth harbor more plaque than straight teeth.  Eliminating gum disease is paramount for overall health. 
2. Easier Cleanings: With maintenance of good oral hygiene, the chances of having plaque retention, tooth decay, or periodontal disease can be reduced.  How often do you have a cleaning and notice that is always feels cleanest around the inside of the lower teeth.  Now notice how crowded the lower front teeth are.  This is easily corrected with Invisalign. 
3. Decreased risk of Abnormal Wear: Properly aligned teeth can be less stressful on the supporting bone and jaw joints.  Teeth that are not properly aligned will wear abnormally.  We want the teeth to align up against each other with a cusp/fossa relationship.  This means the hills match up to the valleys of the opposing teeth.  This creates normal, slow wear over time.  Misalignment causes the wear of teeth to occur in areas that it should not and thus more breaking and chipping of teeth.
