Olde Del Mar Cottage – A Lifetime of Family Memories

Once in awhile in Real Estate we have a story and an experience that simply makes everything make sense and worthwhile.  My experience with my clients who recently purchased a new home in Olde Del Mar is in fact one of those stories and fortunately for me, has created life long friendships.

I met my client at Starbucks in Del Mar and we hit it off.  I was then fortunate enough to help him and his family along with his business partners buy this fabulous home houses from the bluff.  They had been coming to San Diego for years for the summer months and had always rented.  They finally decided that maybe it was time to buy a home here and I was asked to help them in their search.
The draw for them was truly the great location of being able to see and hear the ocean, take in the gorgeous sunsets and being within walking distance to everything that Del Mar has to offer.  They can come here and really don’t have to get in a car if they don’t want to.  They can walk down the goat trail to the beach at 11 Street, walk for their morning coffee at my favorite – The Stratford Café – but most of all they don’t really have to go anywhere as their views form their front porch are breathtaking.
The cottage was originally built in 1960’s.  The kitchen had been remolded and was really nicely done when they bough the home but the bedrooms and bathrooms just needed some TLC.  The bones of the house were in great shape so all the was really needed was a  new style, paint and some love and attention.  They created a beautiful beachy feel and a vacation home that now sleeps 10 people very comfortably.  Each room can easily accommodate a family with a sense of privacy and true comfort.  They had originally thought they would turn it into a beach rental but now that it is all done…. who knows…… they may decide to keep it all to themselves.
For the windy days or a change of scenery – you can relax on the sheltered back porch area or  in the luxurious spa – maybe much needed after a long run on the beach or a rigorous surf session 🙂
I feel very blessed to have helped my clients and it’s heartwarming to know how happy they and that I helped and made a difference.
