Are You Packing Your Lunches?

Carmel Valley San Diego Community | Melanie Mediate | Are You Packing Your Lunches?Weight Loss Tip #1: Are You Packing Your Lunches?

Do you have a lunch bag?  Are you planning ahead or are you just going with the flow each day, eating what’s available when the time comes?

PLANNING AHEAD BY PREPARING & BRINGING YOUR OWN MEALS AND SNACKS FOR YOUR WORKDAY IS PROBABLY THE NUMBER ONE SECRET TOOL TO EASY WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS.  PLUS YOU WILL SAVE A TON OF MONEY DOING IT!!

This is my bag!  I love it!  It has 6 layers, which translates into 6 meals a day!!  That’s how much you should be eating each day to increase your body’s fat burn rate.

Here’s a sample of what my daily meals & 6 lunch containers look lik:

1st meal
I have a pretty big breakfast right when I wake up with coffee and nonfat milk.. stop skipping breakfast! load up first thing! this will increase the amount of fat you burn throughout the day and reduce cravings later.. keep it natural though.

Then I pack my lunch bag & head out:

  1. Fruit Salad
  2. Oatmeal:  good as a mid-morning/ midday /or as a pre-workout snack.  I pack it dry – will add thermos of milk later before eating.  I add nuts, stevia, golden raisins & a few tbsp ground flaxseed to my oatmeal mix.  Get creative & add what you like-just keep it natural!
  3. Quinoa tabbouleh salad with grilled chicken
  4. Carrots, cucumbers, grape tomatoes & hummus
  5. Mixed Nuts and dried unsweetened fruits, raisins, currants, etc.  Another yummy treat is: peanut butter or nut butter mix with sliced apples or bananas.
  6. Quinoa tabbouleh salad with grilled chicken

*The 6th meal can be eaten at dinner…but if you work late-pack it!

Notice that I eat more like 7 or 8 times a day.  The containers though, are not actual meals, they are more like snacks.

Compare your meals and lunch box to mine and ask yourself: what items am I eating that can be swapped out for something more nutritious?
