Elizabeth Ander Hughes is The Carmel Valley Life‘s Sports League Director and serves on the North Shore Girls Softball League board as Fall Ball Coordinator and Social Media Director. She also has her own food blog called Virtually Homemade and is an experienced writer. Liz is a Carmel Valley San Diego community resident and mom to two wonderful kids and a wife to a loving husband. She will be working on behalf of North Shore Girls Softball League to feature information about youth athletics and also inform the community about their softball events and the North Shore Girls Softball League in general. We are excited to have both Liz and NSGSL as part of our growing “Sports” section.
We immediately began building out our local sports league column after receiving the suggestion from a Carmel Valley San Diego community parent. Even though we are only at the early stages of developing this section, we feel that the column will only be as good as the amount of involvement and contribution we get from local leagues. That being said, we will gladly share with the community, information regarding local sports organizations. In addition, our intentions aren’t solely to provide information but to also stir up community involvement. So, along with a description page, local sports leagues also have the opportunity to write short articles regarding their league (i.e. events, registration dates, games, etc) that will be then posted on The Carmel Valley Life website and in each league’s mini blog (also provided by The Carmel Valley Life). Articles will be posted monthly and can occur more frequently should a league have some more important things to share with the community. We are excited to be working along side local sports organizations to bring about more awareness regarding sports league opportunities and activities that the local Carmel Valley San Diego community can get involved in.
