Welcome to The Grand Life!

Welcome to the number one luxury resort in the country – The Grand Del Mar.  A true 15-star resort, The Grand Del Mar has been declared by Conde Nast Traveler, as one of the “World’s Best Places to Stay.”  The luxury resort is located on the beautiful Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, where guests can enjoy 37 miles of biking, hiking and horse back riding.  Here, guests are invited to stay, dine, and enjoy their time participating in many of the activities the resort has to offer.  Please continue reading below after watching the video…

The accommodations at The Grand Del Mar include 249 guestrooms and suites.  When walking through the extended hallway into one of the guestrooms, it’s obvious that you are about to have an experience like no other.  Enjoy the option of a guestroom with a king bed or two queen beds, and a wide selection of views to choose from.  One step up from the guestrooms are the guest suites.  The suites are generally 1,000 square feet, and offer separate bedrooms and parlor areas.  Last, and certainly not least, The Grand Del Mar offers the opportunity for guests to stay at the Brisa Villas.  The Villas are 4,500 square feet estates,  full of space and beautiful design, and offer home-like privacy with the conveniences of a world-class resort.

Carmel Valley San Diego Community | The Grand Del Mar | EasterThe Grand Del Mar is far more than just a hotel – it is full of exciting, relaxing, and family-based activities.  At the resort, guests are encouraged to take part in bike riding, outdoor sports, horseback riding, and using the pool, fitness area and spa.  An event calandar is posted on The Grand Del Mar’s website as well.  There are all kinds of different occasions and events that are sure to interest all types of guests, including Carmel Valley residents.  For example, coming up in the next few months:

  • Easter Dining & Fun:  on April 8th, an Easter brunch and an egg hunt is available for the entire family to enjoy.
  • Discover: Wines of Burgundy: on April 19th, a seminar and tasting with legendary importer, Martine Saunier.
  • Spring Into Summer Mixology Demo: on May 10th, a cocktail demonstration by mixologist, Adrian Biggs.

These are just some of the events coming up this year at the resort.  For more information about these events and others, please be sure to visit the Activity Calendar offered on the resort’s website.

The Carmel Valley Life was honored to have the opportunity to interview with Thomas J. Voss, President and CEO of The Grand Del Mar.  Tom and his team gave David A. Moya  a tour of the resort, and encouraged everyone to come and enjoy all that The Grand Del Mar has to offer.  When asked how residents and business owners can plug into what the resort has going on, Tom answered, “We are fortunate, that we have a lot of our residents around in Carmel Valley visiting the Grand Del Mar.  The ones who have not, I would invite you to come and stop by The Grand Del Mar.  Take a look at the lobby and stroll around the resort because it is so spectacular and very different than many hotels in the east and west coast.”  After spending just a few minutes at the resort, you will undoubtedly feel the entire team’s commitment to service; and the resort’s 15-star rating by Forbes is testament to that.
